UK Bestsellers: October 2011
So the Winter nights are drawing in, time to cosy up and start thinking about log fires, warm dinners, and , yes it's almost here again, Christmas! October say the release of all the standard Christmas fare - sumptuous cookbooks, entertainment biographies, and some hefty novels to help while away the long evenings. With the recent and tragic loss of one of the world's most admired innovators, it's unsurprising to see Walter Isaacson's exclusive biography of Steve Jobs on top of the charts. It's also unsurprising to see Booker prize winner The Sense of an Ending leaping into the top ten - definitely a book I intend to pick up in the next month or so. Since Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's his new releases are treasured more than ever by his fans, and Snuff is sure to sell by the van load. Lots of cook books flying about the chart, with all those domestic Gods and Godesses sharpening their skills before the 'eating season', and of course The Help and One Day inevitably featuring.
